Lateral thinking

A powerful brainstorm technique.

Take a given concept related to your business and then list all the things in the same category. This goes beyond using a thesaurus, although they are very handy.

For example if you have a business that sells jeans, you might write down ideas like wardrobe, closet, dresser, drawer, rack, shelf, crease, pocket, thread, canvas, cloth, etc.

Next, take a second concept related to your business in a different category and explore all the things in that category. So taking the jeans example again, say you are focusing on durability. You might write down words like durable, strong, heavy duty, tough, rip-resistant, resilient, steely,
